Dorsett’s final year in pro football was with the Denver Broncos in 1989. In his 12 seasons of NFL play, Dorsett missed only six games. His career totals include 12,739 yards rushing, 398 receptions for 3,544 yards, 16,326 combined net yards and 90 touchdowns.
1994 was a proud year for Dorsett when his career accomplishments
earned him multiple honors. He was inducted into the prestigious
Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor
and then elected to both the College Football Hall
of Fame and the Pro Football
Hall of Fame.
Dorsett has retired from professional football, but he has hardly
slowed down. Since leaving the game, he has never left the
limelight. From television, to film, to the Internet, Tony
Dorsett has remained in the public eye. Some of his television
credits include Entertainment Tonight and The Young and
the Restless, and he frequently discusses the NFL on a number
of network sports programs and websites. On the wide screen,
he has appeared in two feature films: Necessary
Roughness and Kill Zone.
